The cost-saving solution for better braking performance Frozen Rotors® from Diversified Cryogenics deliver increased performance and a higher level of safety while significantly reducing braking system costs. Our proprietary, 60-hour cryogenic process permanently and dramatically improves the usage life and stability of brake rotors to create a distinct advantage in tensile strength, abrasive wear resistance and rotor longevity. Increase Performance Frozen Rotors® resist cracking, warping and fading. By using the cryogenic process to inhibit internal oxidation and increase thermal fatigue resistance, Frozen Rotors® can last up to three times as long as untreated rotors. Increase Safety Frozen Rotors® provide more predictable, consistent braking–even under extreme circumstances. They are the ideal choice for high-usage and high-performance vehicles that demand reliability and safety. Reduce Costs By extending the life of your braking system with the exceptional durability of Frozen Rotors®, you can save thousands of dollars in brake rotor and pad replacement costs. For fleet vehicles, police cruisers and performance cars, Frozen Rotors® offer confidence, safety and savings. Our long-lasting, wear-resistant brake rotors are the cost-effective solution for better, safer braking. We are about to enter our third year using Frozen Rotors® on our entire fleet of Police Training Vehicles without replacing any rotors due to wear or warpage. Our training vehicles are used in extreme situations that normally destroy the stock rotors between 500 and 1500 miles. – Bill Ruhr Interim Director, MN Highway Safety Center I have over 45,000 miles on my Frozen Rotors® and they are still way within factory specs. The set that came on the car were shot after 21,000 miles. – Paul Nogaki, CA

What is Deep Cryogenic Processing? Deep cryogenic treating is a one-time, homogenous process that permanently and dramatically improves the performance and useful life of metals in everything from brake rotors and performance engines to machine tools and gun barrels. Using a proprietary computer-controlled process, the metal is cooled slowly to deep cryogenic temperatures (-300°F), and slowly returned to room temperature, then heat-tempered as the final step. Computer technology allows us to regulate temperatures to 1 degree, accurately manipulating our Cryo treatment in accordance with the mass of your parts. Although not apparent to the naked eye, the improvements to the metal are significant. Deep cryogenic processing creates dramatic increases in abrasive wear resistance and durability. The increases in tensile strength, toughness and stability couple with the release of internal residual stresses. How the Process Works Deep cryogenic processing permanently refines the grain structure of metals at the atomic level. Carbon particles precipitate as carbides into a lattice structure and fill in the microscopic voids. This creates metallurgically improved and stabilized rotors that have a denser, smoother surface. As a result, you reduce heat and wear on brake rotors and pads. What does cryogenic treating do for my rotors? Cryogenic treating will increase the useable life of your rotors by 100% to 300% and typically increase the life of your brake pads by 10% - 50%. Do my pads need to be cryogenically treated? No. There is no significant advantage to having your brake pads treated. Can I turn my rotors without damaging the cryogenic treatment? Yes. Although we suggest against having your rotors turned for performance reasons, however, the turning process, if done correctly, will not damage or remove the cryogenic treatment. What are the reasons I would not want to have my rotors turned? When you turn rotors you reduce the thickness of the rotor. When you reduce the thickness of the rotor, the operating temperature increases. The consequences of this temperature increase will be increased brake pad wear, increases in the speed of crack growth and you will experience a more rapid onset of brake fade. Therefore we do not recommend having your rotors turned. There are others that claim to cryogenically treat brake rotors. Are you doing the same thing? Yes and No. Sorry for such a vague answer but let me explain. Yes, there are others that freeze rotors but that is where the similarity ends. Here at Diversified Cryogenics we utilize a proprietary 60 hour freezing process that is different from the others. This is why a number of CART, NASCAR, Trans AM, Motorola/SpeedVision Cup and SCCA ProRacing teams as well as many Porsche, BMW, Corvette and other club racers use Diversified Cryogenics for their Frozen Rotor source. We are the leading source of Frozen Rotors for racers worldwide. Use the experts at Diversified Cryogenics for your next set of rotors.
